Old Rooster Coffee Co. Sign

I originally published this post a couple of months ago, but wanted to share it again...since it's one of my favorites!

I finally pulled out my Silhouette Portrait over the weekend to complete this little project I've been planning for weeks now.

I found this old chalkboard at Goodwill for $2.99 and placed it above my kitchen cabinets behind this shabby rooster and a chicken wire egg-basket.

(No, my walls really aren't this color.... it's the camera.....)

My original plan was to paint the word "EGGS" on the chalkboard but as a last minute change, I decided on
"Old Rooster Coffee Co."

I got out my Silhouette Portrait and laid out my letters like this......

and cut my stencil on heavy cardstock.

I then lined up my stencils on the chalkboard and used an off white craft paint that I had on hand to create the sign.

When I pulled the paper off - I was left with this cute little sign.....

I love it!  And I especially love the $2.99 price tag.....
What do you think?

Sharing the love at these great parties!

  2. Wow! What a fabulous chalkboard and you found the perfect use for it! I love the way you arranged things above your cabinets. I wish you were here to help me. I've barely started to put a few things above mine and I never know if I have the right balance! You are good my friend! Happy weekend!

    1. You are SO sweet! It no longer looks like this up there.... I change things around A LOT!!! Years ago I remember wathcing Nate Berkus on Oprah (which is when I fell madly in love with him.....) and he said always decorate in groups of 3's or 5's (unless you are going for a completely symmetrical look) and it stuck... Objects just look better grouped in odd numbers!
